Cookie Policy

About this policy

This policy explains how the Umlaut Consulting Ltd website at umlautconsulting.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read alongside our privacy notice, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device so that it can recognise your browser later. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser or tracking pixels, for the same purpose. The law treats all of these in the same way, and so does this policy.

Our website does not use cookies

Our website does not place cookies on your device, and it does not use local storage, tracking pixels or any similar technology. This means we have no cookie banner and nothing for you to accept or decline.

We measure how our website is used with a privacy-focused analytics service that works without cookies. It records each page visit without storing anything on your device or giving your browser an identifier, so it cannot recognise you when you return or follow you across other websites. We see only totals and trends, such as how many people read a page and which sites referred them. Our privacy notice explains how this works in more detail.

Our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs of requests to the website, including IP addresses, so that it can deliver the site and protect it from misuse. These logs are held on the provider's servers rather than on your device, and they are deleted within seven days.

Some links on our website take you to pages run by other organisations, which set their own cookies under their own policies.

We do not control these cookies, and we receive no information from them. If you would rather not have them set, you can manage them in your browser settings or through the options those websites offer.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them and block them, either for all websites or for particular ones. The help pages for your browser explain how. Blocking cookies will not affect how our website works, because it does not use them.

If this changes

If we ever add anything to our website that stores information on your device and needs your consent, we will ask for that consent before it is set, and we will update this policy first.
